ब्रह्ममुरारिसुरार्चितलिङ्गं निर्मलभासितशोभितलिङ्गम्। जन्मजदुःखविनाशनलिङ्गं तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम्॥

Brahma Murari Surarchita Lingam Nirmala Bhasita Shobhita Lingam Janmaja Duhkha Vinashana Lingam Tat Pranamami Sada Shiva Lingam

The Linga adored by Brahma, Vishnu, and all the gods, radiant with pure and luminous splendor, The Linga that dissolves the sorrows born of countless lifetimes of existence. It is the axis of all worship and the ground of all being. I bow to that eternal Sada Shiva Linga.

देवमुनिप्रवरार्चितलिङ्गं कामदहं करुणाकरलिङ्गम्। रावणदर्पविनाशनलिङ्गं तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम्॥

Deva Muni Pravara Archita Lingam Kama Daham Karunaakara Lingam Ravana Darpa Vinashana Lingam Tat Pranamami Sada Shiva Lingam

The Linga worshipped by the foremost of gods and sages, the compassionate destroyer of desire, The Linga before whose infinite presence even the pride of mighty Ravana was shattered to dust. From this Linga pours forth a compassion that holds all worlds in its embrace. I bow to that eternal Sada Shiva Linga.

सर्वसुगन्धसुलेपितलिङ्गं बुद्धिविवर्धनकारणलिङ्गम्। सिद्धसुरासुरवन्दितलिङ्गं तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम्॥

Sarva Sugandha Sulepita Lingam Buddhi Vivardhana Karana Lingam Siddha Sura Asura Vandita Lingam Tat Pranamami Sada Shiva Lingam

The Linga anointed with all fragrant substances, the source from which intellect and wisdom flower, The Linga bowed to by the Siddhas, by the gods, and by the demons alike: for this reality stands beyond all opposition. It is the formless pillar of pure consciousness, the cause behind the awakening of all minds. I bow to that eternal Sada Shiva Linga.

कनकमहामणिभूषितलिङ्गं फणिपतिवेष्टितशोभितलिङ्गम्। दक्षसुयज्ञविनाशनलिङ्गं तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम्॥

Kanaka Maha Mani Bhushita Lingam Phani Pati Veshthita Shobhita Lingam Daksha Suyajna Vinashana Lingam Tat Pranamami Sada Shiva Lingam

The Linga adorned with gold and great jewels, beautified by the coiled embrace of the king of serpents, The Linga whose presence reduced the proud sacrifice of Daksha to nothing, for ritual cannot contain the infinite. This is the primal form that transcends all rite and all ornament, yet accepts adoration in every form. I bow to that eternal Sada Shiva Linga.

कुङ्कुमचन्दनलेपितलिङ्गं पङ्कजहारसुशोभितलिङ्गम्। सञ्चितपापविनाशनलिङ्गं तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम्॥

Kunkuma Chandana Lepita Lingam Pankaja Hara Sushobhita Lingam Sanchita Papa Vinashana Lingam Tat Pranamami Sada Shiva Lingam

The Linga smeared with kumkuma and sandalwood, beautifully adorned with garlands of lotus flowers, The Linga that burns away the accumulated weight of all sins gathered across many lifetimes. As fire consumes what is offered, this sacred form receives all impurity and returns only liberation. I bow to that eternal Sada Shiva Linga.

देवगणार्चितसेवितलिङ्गं भावैर्भक्तिभिरेव च लिङ्गम्। दिनकरकोटिप्रभाकरलिङ्गं तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम्॥

Deva Gana Archita Sevita Lingam Bhavair Bhaktibhir Eva Cha Lingam Dinakara Koti Prabhakara Lingam Tat Pranamami Sada Shiva Lingam

The Linga served and adored by hosts of gods, approached through sincere feeling and pure devotion, The Linga whose self-luminous radiance surpasses the combined brilliance of a million suns. Yet this blinding light is not apart from us: it is the very light of consciousness by which we see. I bow to that eternal Sada Shiva Linga.

अष्टदलोपरिवेष्टितलिङ्गं सर्वसमुद्भवकारणलिङ्गम्। अष्टदरिद्रविनाशितलिङ्गं तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम्॥

Ashta Dalo Pari Veshthita Lingam Sarva Samudbhava Karana Lingam Ashta Daridra Vinashita Lingam Tat Pranamami Sada Shiva Lingam

The Linga encircled by eight petals, the primal cause from which all creation arises, The Linga that destroys the eight forms of poverty, liberating the soul from every want and lack. This is the cosmic pillar at the heart of creation, the still point from which all movement flows. I bow to that eternal Sada Shiva Linga.

सुरगुरुसुरवरपूजितलिङ्गं सुरवनपुष्पसदार्चितलिङ्गम्। परात्परं परमात्मकलिङ्गं तत्प्रणमामि सदाशिवलिङ्गम्॥

Sura Guru Sura Vara Pujita Lingam Sura Vana Pushpa Sada Archita Lingam Paratparam Paramatmaka Lingam Tat Pranamami Sada Shiva Lingam

The Linga worshipped by Brihaspati and the greatest of the gods, ever offered flowers from celestial groves, The Linga that is the Supreme beyond the supreme, the very essence of the Paramatman, the universal Self. This is not a form among forms but the formless ground of all form, the infinite reality wearing the garb of symbol. I bow to that eternal Sada Shiva Linga.

लिङ्गाष्टकमिदं पुण्यं यः पठेच्छिवसन्निधौ। शिवलोकमवाप्नोति शिवेन सह मोदते॥

Lingashtakam Idam Punyam Yah Pathet Shiva Sannidhau Shiva Lokam Avapnoti Shivena Saha Modate

Whoever recites this sacred Lingashtakam in the presence of Shiva attains the realm of Shiva. There, in that supreme abode beyond all worlds, the devotee rejoices in eternal union with Shiva himself.
